Golf
What about a round of golf in stunning surroundings at a fraction of the cost of European courses:

• Southbroom Golf Club - 2 mins
• San Lameer Golf Course - 5 mins
• Margate Golf Club - 10 mins
• Port Shepstone Golf Club - 20 mins
• Wild Coast Golf Course - 20 mins

Many people know this part of South Arica as a golfer’s paradise due to over 8 golf courses being in close proximity, 5 of which are less than 20 minutes drive away from Blue Horizon!

Ocean
• Deep sea fishing at nearby Shelley Beach for Sail fish, Marlin, Tuna or something for the table.
• View the gigantic Southern Right whale or watch the dolphins from boat or shore during May to November
• Sardine run in June/July watch the whales, sharks, dolphin, gannets, in a feeding frenzy,
• Scuba Diving on the world famous Protea banks reef. Gain your PADI certificate. Get up close and personal with the marine life

Nature
• Bird watching in Southbroom’s Bushbuck Trail and coast line for the budding ornithologists.
• Umtamvuna nature reserve allows you to get close to nature and have a picnic at the same time
• Enjoy a horseback ride on the beach and through the surf, at the local Wild Coast Sun or Selsdon Park Estate
• Oribi Gorge 25mins drive from Southbroom is South Africa’s answer to the Grand Canyon, enjoy breakfast at the Leopards Rock Cafe overlooking the gorge and then maybe try the terrifying leap at Oribi Gorge Hotel - not for the faint hearted!
• Just up the road you can do your own mini Safari and suspension bridge walk at Lake Eland . The gorge has many fine hiking trails and nature walks plus stunning spectacular scenery.

Other
• Glorious sandy deserted beaches - just too many to mention.
• View the beautiful coastline from on high with a microlight or light aircraft flight.
• Mountain biking trails at Port Edward are a must if you like to be on two wheels.
• A wide range of restaurants to suit every taste from a beach bar for lunch or a sophisticated romantic setting with internationally acclaimed cuisine within a very close proximity.
