Just over an hour’s leisurely drive south from Durban, close to the popular resorts of Margate and Ramsgate you will find the jewel of the Hibiscus Coast, the village of Southbroom, famous for its spectacular golf course and beautiful coast line. The village lives in harmony with nature which creates a tranquil secure environment for your holiday
Blue Horizon B&B overlooks the Indian Ocean from its position in tropical gardens and vegetation. A two minute drive will bring you to one of our many safe beaches edged by indigenous coastal forests or a minute away will allow you to tee off at the first tee at Southbroom Golf Club.
Whilst many people know this part of South Arica as a golfer’s paradise due to over 8 golf courses being in close proximity, 5 of which are less than 20 minutes drive away from Blue Horizon, there’s much, much more to fill your holiday. In season you can take a boat and watch whales and dolphins at close range, or if you’re lucky, experience one of nature’s wonders, the Sardine Run, made famous in David Attenborough’s documentary the Blue Planet. Why not get some hands on experience and fish from one of the many beaches or go deep sea fishing for Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna or Shark or just something for the plate. The activities and places to visit will make sure that if you want to keep busy instead of just relaxing you can. Perhaps adventure is more to your liking with a canopy tour through the treetops or a leap from nearby Oribi Gorge but if not then you can still enjoy the scenic beauty of the massive gorge with breakfast at Leopards Rock Cafe overlooking the valley. Awesome!
The place you stay is an integral part of a great holiday, your hosts Brandon and Samantha de Boer realise this and are passionate to ensure that everything possible is done to make your stay at Blue Horizon Bed and Breakfast a great one!
